Traditional university enrollment
presentations are often built to inform.
But younger audiences no longer consume institutional communication the same
way previous generations did.
Attention behavior changed.
Visual language changed.
Expectations changed.

The challenge was not redesigning slides.
It was redesigning how the experience communicates.
THE CHALLENGE BEHIND THE BRIEF
The American University in Cairo is one of the most recognized educational institutions in the region and the only globally accredited American university in Egypt.
As a university with established design and communication disciplines, the expectations for visual
communication were already high internally.
The enrollment presentation is one of the university’s most important communication tools.
It represents academic authority, student culture, opportunity, and institutional relevance all at once.
It represents academic authority, student culture, opportunity, and institutional relevance all at once.
AUC approached multiple agencies to rethink the presentation experience.
Beetles was selected to develop a new communication system in collaboration with the university’s marketing team.
The objective was not creating “younger-looking slides.” The objective was building a presentation system capable of speaking to a new generation without losing institutional credibility.
The visual direction was inspired by
contemporary digital communication systems
already familiar to late Gen Z and early Gen Alpha audiences.
The goal was not imitation. It was accessibility through familiarity.
